Bread rolls..

I have numerous requests for recipes based on bread..And so here is one of my fav 'Bread rolls' for u all..
Bread rolls are generally considered as deep-fried snack. For this reason they are made once in a blue moon. This wont be the case any more.Folks, here we gonna see a healthy version of bread rolls which you can have as many as you want..This may look difficult, but its so easy and fun to do..
You will need:
8-10 bread slices
3 potatoes (medium sized)
1 carrot(medium sized)
1/2 cup fresh green peas n frozen corn
1 table spoon ginger-garlic paste
2 green chillies(deseeded)
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon tumeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
5 sprigs of fresh coriander (finely chopped)
juice of half lemon
oil for shallow frying
salt as per taste

Deseed the chillies..this will eliminate the spicyness and by the way u could enjoy its flavour.Chop them finely..

Boil the potatoes and carrot till tender...

Peel n mash the potatoes and chop the carrots...

Heat 1 teaspoon of oil..fry the onion and ginger-garlic paste for 2-3 mins..add the chillies..

Add the boiled peas and corn ..add the dry spices and stir well..

Add salt as per taste...

Add the potatoes and carrots..squeeze the lime and throw the chopped coriander in it.Mix well .Transfer to a bowl and allow it to cool..

You can make the filling with any vegetables in any variation..

Take a plate containing water..and little oil to grease your hands..

Dip one side of the bread slice in the water and place it between your palms and press them gently to get rid of the water..(this makes the bread soft )

Make a cylindrical form of the filling as shown and keep them in the center of the bread..

Fold them as shown...

Smooth them to make it perfectly cylindrical...

They are now read for shallow frying..People who dont mind calories can deep fry them..

Heat an iron griddle and grease with 1-2 teaspoon of oil.Place the rolls on it and turn around to make it evenly brown on all sides...

Dab excess oil in a tissue..(Im super conscious about oil intake!)

This has to be served hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup!
A great advantage of this is,you can make these rolls in large amount and keep it in fridge for 2 days and whenever required, grab them out and fry them n relish!
